Director of VET Stakeholder and Channel Management
Wendy was first involved in Vocational Education and Training (VET) in 1994 as the Training for Retail and Commerce (TRAC) coordinator for the ACT. In 1995, Wendy established VETnetwork Australia then returned to the VET arena in 1999 when she joined the then Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
Wendy is currently Director of VET Stakeholder and Channel Management which manages programs associated with acknowledging and showcasing the VET sector including the Australian Training Awards and the internationally recognised Australian Apprenticeships Ambassadors program.
As the status of VET is a genuine barrier to participation internationally, the Australian Government is embarking on a long term strategy to raise the profile of VET qualifications as an equal choice career pathway. The strategy utilises established stakeholder channels through partnerships with community, corporate and national sporting bodies to communicate its key messages. Wendy heads up this body of work.
