The Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) is holding its National Conference and Asia Pacific International Education Forum on the 29, 30 and 31 August 2018 in Canberra.
Your application will need to nominate one of the following sub themes:
- Innovating under regulation
- Achieving compliance
- Strategy development, evaluation & monitoring
- Optimising technology in teaching
- Assessment design
- Capacity building
When completing your abstract you should think through one or more of the following characteristics as a useful guide to your applications content:
- be futuristic about new world student environments;
- be commercially sound yet entrepreneurial;
- include practical approaches to ensuring a quality education experience for students while addressing regulatory and risk issues;
- be cutting edge and technology driven;
- be inspiring yet provoking about the future of education; and
- be student and learning centric.
Guidelines for abstracts:
- All abstracts must be submitted through the online portal
- When considering your abstract ensure you outline the learning outcomes delegates will take away from the experience with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning
- Presentations are strictly limited to 45 minutes maximum which includes and allows for 5-10 minutes of question and answer time
- Submitted presentations should not have been presented elsewhere or be under consideration for presentation elsewhere
- The conference planning committee will apply key criteria when assessing abstracts and will be looking for presentations that are engaging, participative and cutting edge
- All presenters of accepted abstracts will be expected to pay the conference registration fee and are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses
- Submissions close 13 April 2018.
- align to one of the nine sub themes
- be no more than 250 words
- address how the presentation will be stimulating, yet structured and persuasively argued
- be methodologically sound, and subsequent papers well evidenced and sources of information are attributed appropriately, and
- clearly outline how the topic contributes to the behaviours and practices of the private training sector.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by the conference planning committee
- You will be advised during April if your abstract has been successful and what day and time you will be required to present at the conference
- Please note that not all abstracts may be deemed suitable for the program, therefore some submissions may be unsuccessful
- Successful candidates will be contacted by the event manager and provided with further guidelines leading into the conference
- The decision of the committee will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
